Seems counter-intuitive at first, but it makes good sense, given the tough job conditions. Unfortunately won't dissuade a whole bunch of people who just wanna stay in college forever. Yep, I'd love to go to grad school too. Get paid for studying, what's not to love? But academia is even more cut-throat than the mafia (less actual bodily harm, p'raps) and there's something to be said for NOT being in debt.
