Ex-professor gets 5 months for sex-for-grades

Could. Not. Have happened to a nicer guy.

Also a postscript of sorts to previous post: Dead American man's parents issue open letter.

I'm quite impressed (albeit not in a heartwarming way) that his parents feel that the "Court of Public Opinion" would give them the answers they want.

Last week went to a talk: rather than sit at home and try to get my brain to absorb stuff, I thought it much better to go and let smarter people talk to me instead. So 'twas a talk by Adrian Briggs, a professor at Oxford. Rubin and New Cap: Foreign Judgments and Insolvency, if anyone's interested.

The content of the talk itself was nicely organised, the speaker, entertaining. Nothing to quibble at. So it is only out of pure schadenfraude that I show:
