randomly, an update
May. 29th, 2012 11:43 amGSS, aka lots of sales, means buying Terry Prachett's:
1) Thud!
2) Sourcery
3) Making Money
4) Men at Arms
5) Wintersmith
6) Jingo
6 books, 60% off. I've not read Wintersmith or Jingo, so yay!
In other news, had last lesson of ethics class yesterday. Our prof was cool and one of the best I've ever had - tho' perhaps the class was a little too big so we couldn't discuss stuff as much?... Anyway, exam on Friday.

It strikes me that (other than bookshops) I basically go to five retail outlets these days:
1) nearby supermarket;
2) LYS (aka local yarn shop);
3) Muji;
4) Uniqlo; and
5) Kinokuniya (also a bookshop).
It's part of my drive to scale down personal consumption and cut down fluff. Three of my favourite chains are, not-so-coincidentally, Japanese. I adore Muji's aesthetic, which is very plain and has all the visual excitement of white bread - love it anyway. Believe it or not, yesterday I was this tempted to buy handkerchiefs, because Muji had lace-edged linen handkerchiefs. Uniqlo has some nice stuff and good service. I also have a Kino membership, which is an incentive to keep buying books and also, they carry Interweave Knits and Keito Dama.
